Colorful celebrations mark Sanyuesan Festival in Nanning

Visitors in bright costumes gathered on Thursday morning at the Qingxiushan Scenic Spot in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, to celebrate the Sanyuesan Festival.

Sanyuesan, the third day of the third month in the Chinese lunar calendar, is a traditional festival for the Zhuang ethnic group of Guangxi.

This year, the festival fell on Thursday.

This year's event focused on combining modern folk songs with intangible cultural heritage. The city set up five intangible cultural heritage villages and five themed streets for attendees to visit and celebrate the festival.

Tourists from home and abroad explored Guangxi's intangible cultural heritage through various interactive and immersive experiences.
