Seminar on Poverty Eradication and Rural Revitalization for Countries around the Indian Ocean Closed in Beijing

On November 20, 2023, the Poverty Eradication and Rural Revitalization for Countries around the Indian Ocean, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and organized by the International Poverty Reduction Center in China(IPRCC), was closed in Beijing. Ms. Jie Ping, Deputy Director General of IPRCC, attended the closing ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Wickramasinghe Mudiyanselage, the Director of Ministry of Agriculture of Sri Lanka, and Mr. MD Shawkat Ali, Dean of Financial Research Institute of Ministry of Finance of Bangladesh delivered speeches on behalf of the participants. The representatives of four other  countries including Indonesia, Eritrea, Tanzania and Djibouti also shared their thoughts and feelings.

Dr. Liu Junwen, Director General of IPRCC, attended the country-specific presentations on the morning of November 20th, and policies in their respective countries, and interacted and communicated with the participants.

The seminar was held in Beijing from November 7 to November 20, 2023, and was attended by 20 officials from the Ministries of Agriculture, Fiance, Health, Labor and Social Welfare, and Development Planning in 6 countries. 

During the seminar, the participants went to Ningde City, Fujian Province for field visit and gain an in-depth understanding of the practices and effectiveness in promoting poverty alleviation and rural revitalization in China.
