On December 6th, 2023, Ms. Li Xin, Deputy Director-General attended the Seminar on “Leveraging Digital Technologies to Enhance Social Safety Nets in SCO Member States”, and presented China’s poverty reduction, social security and the role of digital technologies in alleviating poverty.

This Seminar is the first Meeting of the SCO Special Working Group (SWG) on poverty reduction, and was hosted by Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety of Pakistan. At the Seminar, representatives from the poverty reduction and development departments of Pakistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan talked about their practices on poverty alleviation and social security, including the use of modern digital technologies in the process. 

Ms. Wang Huixian and staff of Foreign Affairs Division, IPRCC, also attended the Seminar.
